I've been learning the erhu on and off for years from various teachers. And now I realise much to my dismay i could have been taught the basics much better. Thank Goodness Miss Mekki has arrived. I wasn't happy with my bowing, often playing both strings at once. She gave me a valuable tip that I hadn't noticed before. Thank you.

Continuing to keep an eye on left hand position which is very helpful so I can be mindful of it while playing. Long bow playing of D scale is something I need to practice more on to keep notes even. I felt I learned a great deal at my lesson today. Will miss two weeks of lessons so I will need to practice lots when I return.

I was nervous about getting back into the Erhu after years away, but Winnie has made it incredibly enjoyable. She tailored the classes to meet my goal. She's attentive, provides clear feedback, and celebrates every bit of progress. In just a few classes, I'm already playing several pop songs – that's way faster than I expected! I like the lesson showing the clear diagram of fingering position which drives me to learn the string instrument Teacher is very patient to even provide video for after-class practicing, making sure my every note is in pitch when I practice on my own.👍

She has been able to improve my skill quickly, and can tell a lot just from the erhu's sound over the computer! I feel like it's a good use of time :) Thank you!
